Grade II Listed Town House Refurbishment
Oaten Hill is a Grade II Listed terraced property within the city of Canterbury. When our clients purchased the property, it had completely fallen into disrepair after 20 years of neglect. Soon after purchasing, we were instructed.
Our brief was to reinstate the property into a beautiful family home. It was evident from the start how much potential this site held; however a full refurbishment and reconfiguration would be necessary for the site to reach a healthy and comfortable condition. Our focus was to improve circulation, including re-instating a staircase and excavation at basement level. Details were provided as necessary to cover specialist refurbishment of original features, including joinery and fenestration.
During the concept design and planning application stages we consulted specialist structural engineers and conservation carpenters to ensure our proposal was as sensitive and well considered as possible.
Our Planning Application and Listed Building Consent for internal and external repairs and refurbishment was granted by Canterbury City Council in 2022.
A high level of detail and consideration has been applied to all aspects of this project, and we will continue to put the significance and history of the site at the heart of what we do.
Our team of specialist architects offer a completely free and no-obligation telephone consultation to discuss your project, explain the process and how we can help.
